On the 8th of May WEP organized an internal high angle hole cleaning training. The training was given by WEP’s Operations manager Peter Hoving. Peter Hoving is an experienced all-round well Engineer with 30+ years Shell experience who has worked in the Netherlands, UK, Canada, and Kuwait.
The training covered all aspects of hole cleaning. Drilling aspects being impact of the angle of the hole, mud properties, and RPM/circulation of the drill string. The aspects of running of the casing was covered as well. For both the drilling and casing running measures were explained that the rig must take to get out of stuck drill string or casing situations.
11 WEP engineers attended the course. The course also was put on the WEP learning management system (WE-roll) for colleagues that could not attend and for future reference.
WEP organizes internal trainings to refresh and share knowledge. WEP gives regularly external trainings (101 drilling, hole cleaning, well engineering training course, etc.) to operators and service suppliers.
