Digitalization Engineer (Energy & Geothermal)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Digitalization Engineer to join our consultancy team and help drive digital transformation across our energy and geothermal projects. In this role, you will work at the intersection of engineering and software development, helping to translate complex technical requirements into scalable digital solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining web‑based engineering and analytical tools
• Implementing data processing pipelines and improving data integration, validation, and reporting workflows
• Supporting the development and extension of our digital twin framework, including model integration and performance optimization
• Contributing to the implementation of AI and machine learning solutions, including predictive analytics, workflow automation, and decision‑support tools

At WEP, you will work in a small but highly skilled and international engineering team, which provides exceptional exposure, responsibility, and a steep learning curve from day one.

Your Profile

• MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (including internships or graduation projects)
• Interest in digitalization, AI, and energy systems
• Strong motivation to learn and apply digital solutions within energy engineering (oil & gas / geothermal)
• Good communication skills and a structured, solution‑oriented working style

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python (preferred) or similar languages
• Understanding of HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with Docker, version control (Git), and basic DevOps concepts
• Basic understanding of APIs
• Familiarity with SQL and database concepts

Nice-to-Have Competencies

• Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn)
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Next.js)
• Basic backend experience (Node.js, Express, FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Understanding of REST API design
• Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Exposure to engineering or industrial simulation workflows (oil & gas, geothermal, energy systems)
