An international consortium consisting of 12 parties from 5 countries will team up in the project to develop an innovative drilling technology that uses electric instead of mechanical rock breaking forces. The technology is expected to enable new opportunities for the development and production of subsurface geothermal resources. The consortium of knowledge institutes, operators, a drilling contractor and service providers will apply a holistic approach to ensure that in a time-efficient manner a technology is created that fits current and near-future market and operational needs.
