JIP 2024: EROI
November 25, 2024
Well Engineering Partners has supported Delft University of Technology‘s JIP – Joint Interdisciplinary Project Program from its start in 2018. Working together with people with different backgrounds, skills and knowledge is elemental for all engineers. This is also being recognized by more and more companies as JIP grew from 1 company in 2018 to 45 organisations in 2024.
This year, WEP teamed up with EAPOSYS and provided a project addressing the concern that the energy transition consumes much of the energy available to society. A team of 4 TUD Master students from different faculties established a framework for calculating the Energy Return On (Energy) Investment (EROI) for Deep Geothermal Systems (DGS). Two cases studies were made based on the framework demonstrating the high Net Energy potential of geothermal systems.
Many thanks to the JIP organization and The ThermaThinkers team, consisting of Anusha, Daoni, Mantas and Mukul!
