Nobian Haaksbergen drilling salt wells
Project Description
The Haaksbergen brinefield development project involved drilling eight brine production wells to supply Nobian’s factory in Hengelo. DrillTec’s Compact rig was contracted for this campaign. The wells configuration consisted of 30” conductor, 18-⅝” surface casing, 13-⅜” last cemented casing, and 10-¾” / 7” outer / inner dilution strings. The main well construction challenges for Haaksbergen were tight target tolerances and the execution of a complex data acquisition program for selected well intervals (XLOT, PLOT, and coring in overburden and cavern intervals). These logged intervals (8-½”) were underreamed to 16”. Most wells were drilled within one month, including rig moves between wells that typically took one week. We would like to thank all parties involved for making this drilling campaign a success, including Nobian, DrillTec, WellPerform, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Geo Data, GeoKrak, IOT, Odfjell, Weatherford and Solexperts,
Challenges
