Geothermal: Ennatuurlijk Aardwarmte drilling new well Middenmeer

MDM-GT-10

Start Drilling: 13 March 2024
End execution: 2 May 2024

Objective: Well delivery, new geothermal well

Depth (MD): 3251m
Depth (TVD): 2462m

Client: Ennatuurlijk Aardwarmte
Location: Middenmeer
Well: MDM-GT-10
Start Drilling: 13-03-2024
End Execution: 02-05-2024
Objective: To successfully drill the 3 well sections of 20”, 12.25” and 8.5” and case off with 16”casing, a 9-5/8” liner and a 6-5/8” WWS.
Depths (MD): 3251m
Depths (TVD): 2462m
Role of WEP: Delivery of the concept design and detailed design document, Drilling program. Assisting in the procurement process, preparing HSSE documents, providing operational support in the field and from the office.
Challenges: This well follows an existing well design however the inclination of this well with a maximum 53 degree will be challenging to drill. Additionally, this well will be drilled from an existing location which results in challenges during rigup and will require coordination of concurrent operations.

Project Description

Ennatuurlijk Aardwarmte B.V., Well Engineering Partners and DrillTec will drill MDM-GT-10, a new geothermal producer from an existing production location in Middenmeer. MDM-GT-10 has a J-shaped trajectory with a maximum inclination of 53 degrees and a well TD at 3251mAH. The well will be completed with a GRE-lined 13-3/8” x 7-5/8” tieback for corrosion protection.
